Finally: getting started

Before beginning your first job, you have to go through a few formalities. Chamber of Commerce information officials can help you get started quickly. To start with, you have to register your business in the trade register within a week, before or after, of locating. The statement containing the Chamber of Commerce number is the official acknowledgement of the start of your business. The costs depend on the legal structure and lie between 40 and 150 euros per year.

For the actual registration you will need to have proof of identity, rental contract (possibly) if the workplace is different from your private address and a VOF contract if you have one. If your home address is not in the Netherlands, a recent statement (not older than a month) from the civil register of your municipality will be required. You can get a copy of your registration. This is required by certain institutions. You can make an appointment for registration or just drop in at one of our offices in Eindhoven, Tilburg or ’s-Hertogenbosch.
