Legal Structures
What risks does a sole trader run? How can I organise mutual cooperation?
There are various legal structures you can choose from. Perhaps for an independent web designer a sole trader would be the best option while a couple of dentists might be best going into partnership for their joint practice. Entrepreneurs intending to start up an advertising agency might prefer a form of cooperation in a VOF (general partnership). Organisations that issue subsidies prefer a foundation since this legal structure has no profit motive. Of course, you can always opt to go freelance or to work alone with no personnel. In other words, be a sole trader.
But whatever your choice, this will be largely dependent on your business plans. So make sure you are well informed about the pros and cons of the different legal structures before you decide on one. The Chamber of Commerce, an accountant or a notary can advise you here.
