Online shopping and ordering is getting more and more popular. As a result of the explosive growth of online business the number of payment methods increases as well. Afterpay got very popular in a short time frame. However, the possibility to pay afterwards includes a financial risk for webshops.


Bad debt is a major cost driver for webshops, which they have to include in their sales prices. Besides that bad debt is responsible for the situation that non-paying consumers are registered into the BKR Register, as well as in other debtor registers. Finally the risk of bad debt sometimes means that trustworthy customers are rejected.

Desired outcome
