As small shops and local pubs are slowly disappearing, this indirectly affects the number of social meeting places for the local community. To UPS this means that the number of places suited for UPS Access Points decreases as well. This makes it more difficult to perform the last mile and get our packages at customers, who are not at home.
As more and more local shops and pubs close, UPS is looking for alternatives to perform the last mile. How can we use innovative technology to launch new, real-life meeting points, where people can connect again while picking up and dropping off their packages?
You know your community best, in relation to the problem of local, small shops disappearing. As you are aware of the problem, you might also know the solution. Since the UPS system can be integrated without the hassle of new hardware, we are open to all ideas that are just software and/or knowledge based. In the end we hope to welcome innovative technology to launch new, real-life meeting points, where people can connect again while picking up and dropping off their packages.
