What are your options?

Read what you could do.

1. Figure out what you want

Do you want something different? But you are not sure what yet? Sometimes it can be helpful to seek inspiration from other entrepreneurs. Or to talk to a career coach. You can also expand your knowledge by taking a workshop or training course.

2. Focus on something else

Perhaps you will discover that you really want to do something other than running a business. In that case, you can wind down your business and look for a salaried job, for example.

3. Choose a different location

You may also decide that you need a new environment for your business. Start building a network in the new region and make a step-by-step plan so that you do not have to arrange everything at once. This will increase the chances of your new adventure succeeding.
> Scan the region with the KVK Locatiescan (in Dutch)

4. Rebrand

Would a fresh start suit your plans better? You could rebrand your business. Rebranding means changing a brand, for example with a new name or design, to create a different image. Did you know that you can easily change your trade name?

5. Start a new business

Another option is to start a completely new business. In that case, you will need to draw up a business plan and register a new business. You will have to pay the registration fee again. If you do not intend to do anything with your old business, deregister it.

6. Change your business activities

You do not have to stop your business if you want to try something new. Often, you can choose a different direction within your existing business. For example, you can expand your services or start a pilot project to find out if there is demand for it. If it works well, you can adjust your activities. If it does not work, you can easily return to your old activities without having to make any changes.

Tip: Different direction? You do not have to deregister your business

Is there a change in what your business does, or are you adding a new activity? You do not need to deregister. You can simply report the change via My KVK. Add or change your business activities >
