KVK Emergency Check helps entrepreneurs prepare for crisis situations

Almost half of business owners believe it is important to be prepared for an acute crisis, such as a major power cut or a prolonged disruption to internet or payment services. Yet only one in ten business owners say they are well prepared. This is according to research by the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce KVK.
That is why the KVK has launched the Emergency Check: a practical online tool that allows business owners to identify their vulnerabilities and find out what they can do about them in just 5 minutes.
Christiaan Hazelaar, business adviser at the KVK: “What if the electricity, internet, or payment systems are completely down for a day, or longer? In this day and age, that could easily happen. As an entrepreneur, you should prepare as well as possible for emergencies.”
Pull the plug
Hazelaar: “The Emergency Check can help with this. You tick the boxes to indicate what you, as an entrepreneur, are or aren’t prepared for, and you’ll immediately receive practical tips tailored to your situation.”
“One of my personal favourites: ‘Pull all the plugs!’ Not just for the sake of it, of course, but it’s no joke. It’s only when there’s a fault that you realise even small things don’t work: phoning a customer, opening an automatic door, taking the lift to the 20th floor – you name it. So why not unplug everything once and see what’s needed for each process? And there are plenty more like that. Practical advice for your situation as an entrepreneur. It takes 5 minutes to complete, and then you’ll have a clear picture for yourself and your business.”
