Registration opens for 21st KVK Innovation Top 100

The largest SME innovation platform is back: KVK is looking for your innovation

Registration for the 21st edition of the KVK Innovation Top 100 is now open. KVK invites all SME business owners with a groundbreaking product or concept to apply. Like last year, startups and young companies with innovations that are not yet on the market are also welcome to take part.

The KVK Innovation Top 100 is the Dutch showcase for innovative entrepreneurship. Smart tech, sustainable breakthrough, and everything inbetween: all SMEs with guts and vision can enroll via www.kvkinnovatietop100.nl.

Five categories, five expert juries

Businesses register in one of the following categories:

  • Circular economy
  • Energy transition
  • Labour market and society
  • Healthcare and food
  • Agriculture, water, and infrastructure

Each category comes with its own expert jury, bringing hands-on experience. They judge the entries on originality, societal impact, and sustainability, among other things.

From entry to success

Twenty finalists will be selected for each category. These 100 businesses and their innovations will be presented to the Dutch public in the fall of 2026. The category winners will be announced during the KVK Innovation Top 100 event at the Ondernemersdagen, mid-November. It will then become clear who succeeds Tree Composites as most innovative SME company in the Netherlands.

Extra visibility

In 2025, Tree Composites won with a revolutionary connection techniology based on composite material and resin, making steel constructions in offshore windturbines stronger as well as more sustainable. Eline Spek, COO at Tree Composites: “Winning the KVK Innovation Top 100 has helped us enormously. We received so many beautiful reactions from our team and our network. Also, the extra visibility has contributed in a big way and landed us several valuable collaborations. For our partners, the recognition that we are the most innovative SME is confirmation that they are working with the right organisation.”

Recognition and support

In the previous edition, Zuid-Holland was the most strongly represented region with 29 companies, followed by Noord-Holland (15), Noord-Brabant (13), and Utrecht (13). The KVK Innovation Top 100 is an annual overview of the most innovative SMEs in the Netherlands. There is no cash prize; recognition and visibility are the rewards. In addition, the KVK initiative is developing into a year-round programme that supports entrepreneurs in the further development of their businesses.
