Lawyers may encounter intimidation, violence, or other threatening situations because of their profession. In the event of such a foreseeable threat, an attorney at law can shield the visiting address of their company or legal entity (with the exception of a bv or nv) in the Business Register. A condition for this is that the professional association of lawyers has agreed upon shielding criteria with KVK. The Nederlandse orde van advocaten (NOvA, Netherlands Bar Association) and KVK have set out these agreements in a covenant.

- You are registered in the tableau of the NOvA.
- Or you have a declaration from NOvA which proves that you have been registered previously in the tableau of the NOvA and for that reason can still come across probable threats.
