Make a report with Digimelding

Do you work for a government organisation? If so, you may use data from the Business Register for your work. If you notice that certain information is incorrect or incomplete, please report this to KVK.

You can report this via Digimelding (in Dutch), a website of the Dutch government. KVK will receive your report immediately and will start processing it. Within 2 working days, we will decide whether to add the note ‘in onderzoek’ (‘under investigation’) to the relevant entry in the Business Register. This allows everyone to see that the information may be incorrect. It is often necessary to investigate the exact situation. Such an investigation can often take several months. If it turns out that the information is indeed incorrect, KVK will adjust the details.

If you do not work for the government, you can report incorrect details via a web form.

Under investigation

From the moment that a piece of information is ‘under investigation’, this will also be stated on the extract from the Business Register. It will say 'Dit gegeven is in onderzoek’ (‘This information is under investigation’. This text will disappear once the investigation has been completed and the correct information has been entered in the Business Register.

Step-by-step guide to reporting back

Step 1: preparation

Make sure you know exactly how to make a report via Digimelding. You can find instructions on the website of Logius (in Dutch). This is an organisation that is part of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.

Step 2: request access

Arrange for the organisation you work for to have access to Digimelding (in Dutch). This is also done via Logius.

Step 3: use Digimelding

You can only make a report on the official details in the Business Register. These are details that must be correct by law, such as name, address, and legal structure. Only make a report if you have a good reason to believe that there are errors in this information. Explain clearly why you think a detail is incorrect. For example, because you have proof that the situation is different from what is stated in the Business Register.

If KVK does not process a feedback report, your government organisation will receive an email about this.

Mandatory use

Agreements within the Stelsel Basisregistraties (in Dutch) oblige government authorities to use the official data in the Business Register. If a piece of information is ‘under investigation’, this is no longer required. You may then use other information obtained from your own research.
