About KVK

The Business Register (Handelsregister) is the key register for all businesses and legal entities. All other organisations taking part in regular commercial transactions are also required to register in the Business Register.

The UBO register is part of the Business Register. It registers the ultimate beneficial owner or owners of an organisation. In other words, the main stakeholder or stakeholders.

Trustees must register their trust or comparable legal construction and their UBOs in the UBO trust register (in Dutch) before 1 November 2023. KVK manages the UBO trust register. Registering UBOs in the UBO trust register is done through an external application. For more information (in Dutch), click the button below.

A court may impose a director disqualification on directors and supervisory directors, thereby preventing them from serving on the board of any legal entity. KVK records this in the Director Disqualification Register and removes directors subject to a director disqualification from the Business Register.
